This training is for the new Sutton Locally Agreed Syllabus 2026 for Religious Education.


This event is suitable for Secondary RE Coordinators.

The aim/s of this event is/are:

  • To provide a comprehensive overview of the new Sutton Agreed Syllabus for RE and worldviews, highlighting its structure, aims, and key concepts.
  • To demonstrate how the syllabus can be used to plan and deliver creative, effective, and inspiring RE lessons that meet the needs of all pupils.
  • To provide necessary resources: Give attendees access to additional support materials, such as schemes of work, which can be used to enhance teaching and learning.
  • To develop teacher skills: including especially non-specialists, with the content knowledge and pedagogical skills to teach the subject with confidence and coherence.
  • To explain the broader context: Discuss the wider context for RE, including its role in developing critical thinking, and preparing pupils for life in a diverse world.
