Our Education Safeguarding termly network meetings provide an opportunity for DSLs and EVCs to share good practice, hear from guest speakers and keep up-to-date with the ever-changing world of local and national safeguarding issues.
74 people attended our Primary DSL Network Meeting where they received updated on the Families First Partnership initiative and heard from guest-speaker Jeremy Indika. Jeremy speaks to children and professionals about child sexual abuse, using his own story.
51 participants attended our Secondary DSL Network Meeting. They heard from Dan at Talk Consent, an organisation that provides workshops to schools on sexual violence and consent, and London’s Regional Prevent Coordinators who shared information about training and support they can provide.
55 Educational Visits Coordinators (EVCs) from primary, secondary and specialist provisions attended our most recent network meeting, led by our Outdoor Education Adviser, Mick Bradshaw. Mick shared a case study from LEO Academy Trust on their recently organised trips to multiple foreign destinations, supporting schools to learn from each other and share good practice. The meeting was also an opportunity to promote the upcoming Outdoor Classroom Day – a global initiative calling on teachers to take children outside for more of their learning and play.
