Budding Picassos!

It’s time to celebrate Gypsy Roma and Traveller History Month (GRTHM) throughout June and our wonderful Traveller pupils have been embracing their inner Picassos and creating some truly amazing pieces of art for our GRTHM art competition. This is a fantastic time of year when our Traveller pupils can use their artistic skills to reflect and express why they are proud to be of Traveller heritage and they do so in the most inspiring and delightful ways. Huge thanks to our judges this year, Jo Cassey and Mick Bradshaw who had the difficult task of choosing a winner from each of our four age categories and took the time to provide individual feedback for every child who entered.  Our winners and their artwork will be featured on our webpage from next week (click on the link below) as part of our GRTHM features and will also be displayed in the Cognus Reception area. The winners’ prizes will be presented to them in their school assemblies to celebrate their achievements and promote GRTHM within their school communities. Congratulations to all our young artists this year.
