Cognus Education Safeguarding Team attend Free Community Family Event at Tweeddale Children’s Centre

On Saturday 16th August 2025, the Education Safeguarding Team attended a free family event at Tweeddale Children’s Centre, organised by the Parenting Service and Volunteers, supported by Family Hub Staff.

This is our safe space.  Look at the smile on my daughter’s face.  We haven’t been able to do a lot this summer as everything is so expensive but there is so much available here and the staff are like family.  I am so grateful

(Parent, August 2025)

The event was attended by Madam Mayor, Councillor Louise Phelan, who had so much fun engaging in the activities.  Entertainment included: music performances, photo booth opportunities, candy floss stall, arts and crafts, soft play, sensory room, sports and animal petting.  Refreshments were provided throughout the day.

The team have worked so hard to put this together.  They honestly don’t realise the difference they make

(Parent, August 2025).

Thank you to the Parenting Service, Volunteers and Family Hub Staff for the difference you make.  A wonderful day was had by all.
