The Sensory Impairment Team, as anyone who meets them will know, are incredibly passionate and dedicated to making a difference, where it matters most. Children, young people and their families are at the heart of everything that they do.
“I wanted to write to you about the amazing support my son J and our family received from Penny and Louissa when we lived in Carshalton. My son has always had a problem with his hearing and was referred to Cognus in 2020 when we were advised that he had fixed conductive hearing loss in his left ear. The care and support he received from Penny was above and beyond. She helped our shy and anxious child find his voice. I cannot tell you how emotional it was when J got a radio aid at school and came home and told us it was the first time he had heard a teacher speak properly. This was all down to your awesome team. They also helped our family immensely to understand J’s world and how he experienced it. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us all…Penny and Louissa are amazing professionals who always make families and the children they work with feel listened to and a priority.”
