SEND CHAMPION  

Welcome to our CPD-accredited SEND Champion Training. 

This comprehensive programme is designed to empower school-based staff with practical strategies and specialist knowledge to support pupils with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). 

This training is suitable for teachers, Teaching assistants, SENCOs, pastoral staff and school leaders. The training will be in keeping with national updates and best practice.

Programme Overview 

The SEND Champion programme combines online learning, in‑person workshops, and structured reflection, supporting participants to build knowledge, apply learning in practice and evidence impact. 

 Online Learning Workshops Reflection & Application 
Module 1:  
Foundations of SEND and Inclusive Practice   
SEN Code of Practice Professionals Roles & Responsibilities Half Day:  12:00 – 16:00 (4 hours)  45 minutes  
Module 2:  
Understanding Children and Young People Through a Trauma Lens  
Foundation of Trauma and Its Impact  Trauma & Vulnerable Learners  Relational Practice and Practical Strategies Full Day:  09:30 – 15:30 (6 hours)   45 minutes  
Module 3:   
Cognition & Learning  Communication & Interaction   Physical & Sensory

Before Each Workshop  

Before attending each in-person workshop, participants are required to:  

  • Watch the relevant theory videos in Resources.  
  • Take notes and prepare questions  
  • Bring printed or digital copies of the required worksheets.  

This preparation ensures workshop time is focused on discussion, practical application and problem solving.
