Welcome Information – Sutton IASS (SIASS)

Meeting our service

SIASS provides free, impartial, and confidential information and advice to children and young people aged 0-25 in the London Borough of Sutton who have or may have special educational needs and/or disabilities, and their families. Our staff are IPSEA trained in SEND law. We are passionate about ensuring that YP and their families understand their legal rights and we aim to empower you with information and advice.

What can families expect from the service?

We support parents, carers, young people and children, and we do this through an empowerment model. Our aim is to ensure you get the right support at the right time to move things on for you or your child/young person.

What SIASS can support with:

  • Advice and guidance related to SEND legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Explain processes, jargon and talk through what options are available
  • Support with reviewing and understanding documents
  • Unlimited access to our duty support
  • Advice before a meeting to help you to prepare and know what you want to say.
  • Signposting to services that may be able to help you.
  • Advice after a meeting to discuss next steps.
