Supernova Singers – Summer Concert Week

Sutton Music Trust aims to give all children the opportunity to make, be inspired by and celebrate music. We are proud to offer performance opportunities for all students, to allow them to grow in confidence and skill.

During the week of 30th June 2025, Sutton Music Trust hosted our Summer Concert Week, welcoming enthusiastic audiences to St Andrews United Reformed Church and Carshalton Methodist Church. The concerts featured a vibrant mix of performances from our bands, orchestras and choirs, with pieces ranging from Pirates of the Caribbean to Gangnam Style, a true celebration of musical diversity!

This year’s concert week was particularly special, as we welcomed a Sutton Supernova Singers to our Thursday evening choir concert.

Supernova Singers, formally known as Autistic Youth Choir, is an inclusive choir that is open to students aged 8 – 13 with all additional learning needs. The singers were given a chance to view the venue prior to the concert, so that they were familiar with the space, and had the chance to rehearse with Sutton Young Singers and Sutton Youth Choir.

Supernova Singers performed two songs, Don’t Stop by Fleetwood Mac, and We Are Unstoppable by Emily Barden to rapturous applause from the audience. We were also joined by the Deputy Mayor of Sutton, as well as one of Sutton Music Trust’s Trustees, who said the show was ‘absolutely beautiful in so many ways’.

Interested in joining Sutton Supernova Singers? The choir rehearses Tuesdays 5:15pm – 6:15pm, and singers are welcome to arrive from 5pm to settle in. Sessions run at Cantium House, Railway Approach, Wallington, SM6 0DZ.
