Sutton LSCP attend the Children and Young People Now Awards 2022

On 24th November 2022, Hayley Cameron, Education Safeguarding Manager, along with partners from Sutton LSCP, attended the Children and Young People Now Awards 2022 at The Hurlingham Club in London, after being shortlisted for their entry with the Child Safeguarding Toolkit.

Now in their 17th year, the awards showcase the innovative services and impactful work delivered by practitioners, teams and organisations working with children, young people and their families.  This year over 450 entries were received!

The Child Safeguarding Toolkit was shortlisted for ‘The Workforce and Development Award’, along with Catch 22, Social Switch Project, London Borough of Hackney, Anti-Racist Practice, Parenting Apart Programme CIC, The Children’s Society and British Transport Police, Operation Defiant Safeguarding Team and Torbay Council, Children’s Services Learning Academy.

This was our opportunity to celebrate and further promote the Child Safeguarding Toolkit which launched both locally and nationally in March 2021.  The Child Safeguarding Toolkit is a unique and comprehensive learning resource for everyone who comes into contact with children and has been designed to help prevent further serious injury or child deaths.

Unfortunately, we didn’t win, but it was heart warming to be a part of such a fabulous event that focused on improving the lives of children and young people worldwide.

‘The toolkit means so much to so many people, and to have been shortlisted for such an award is truly heart-warming.  This is recognition of our hard work and multi-agency commitment to safeguarding young people.  We never forget, we are always learning, and we want to make a difference’

(Hayley Cameron, Education Safeguarding Manager).

We look forward to submitting another entry for 2023-2024.  Please continue to promote the toolkit within your teams www.childsafeguardingtoolkit.org.uk.
