At the end of September, the Education Safeguarding Team hosted its first-ever Experienced DSL Training session following requests from DSLs.
The session brought together safeguarding leads from across Sutton Secondary schools to explore the latest local and national safeguarding developments to consider how emerging safeguarding issues can be addressed within their own contexts.
One of the most valuable aspects of the session was the opportunity for delegates to learn from one another. Bringing together such a knowledgeable and experienced group created rich professional discussions, enabling DSLs to share expertise, reflect on challenges and discuss effective strategies being used across schools.
The collaborative nature of the day highlighted the strength of our safeguarding community. Through open dialogue and professional reflection, attendees were able to gain reassurance, fresh perspectives and practical ideas to take back to their schools.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed. The knowledge, enthusiasm, and collaborative spirit in the room demonstrated the strength of our safeguarding network and our shared commitment to keeping children and young people safe.
