On 23rd November 2023, Hayley Cameron, Education Safeguarding Manager, along with partners from Sutton LSCP, attended the Children and Young People Now Awards 2023 at The Hurlingham Club in London, after being shortlisted for their entry with the Child Safeguarding Toolkit.

Now in their 18th year, the awards showcase the innovative services and impactful work delivered by practitioners, teams and organisations working with children, young people and their families.  This year over 500 entries were received!

The Child Safeguarding Toolkit was shortlisted for ‘The Safeguarding Award’, along with Bradford Children and Families Trust, Haringey Council, Medway Council, No Limits, The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, YMCA, Sussex Police and Barnardo’s.

This was our opportunity to celebrate and further promote the Child Safeguarding Toolkit which launched both locally and nationally in March 2021.  The Child Safeguarding Toolkit is a unique and comprehensive learning resource for everyone who comes into contact with children and has been designed to help prevent further serious injury or child deaths.

Unfortunately, we didn’t win, but it was heart warming to be a part of such a fabulous event that focused on improving the lives of children and young people worldwide.

‘The toolkit means so much to so many people, and to have been shortlisted for such an award is truly heart-warming.  This is recognition of our hard work and multi-agency commitment to safeguarding young people.  We never forget, we are always learning, and we want to make a difference’ (Hayley Cameron, Education Safeguarding Manager).

We look forward to sharing the new Fire Safety Toolkit with you in March next year!

Please continue to promote the Child Safeguarding Toolkit within your teams www.childsafeguardingtoolkit.org.uk.
