I had 6 staff members attend the online safeguarding training the other night, all of them came back to me to let me know how nice it was to be able to do the training online with you at a time that is outside of working hours. It gave them time to unwind from a day at work and be able to concentrate on the training. The content was relevant to them and the age of the children that they are working with. Most staff said some of the content was hard to hear but understood why it needed to be covered. But again, being at home allowed them to process their emotions before having to come back to work. All my staff said that the slides were very useful and have even asked me to print them off and have them put up where, if needed, they can refer to them.

With the bespoke supervision I think it has enabled our team to open up a bit more about the stressors and challenges for them – particularly given some of the very complex cases we have had this year. Whilst the other supervision was useful, our team always found that our issues were always quite different from those in mainstream and therefore we learnt more from the discussions which each other.
We also all found these sessions to be much more of a support for each other, giving us time allocated to stop and reflect on issues and the impact of some of our more complex cases. To have this time allocated just for our team was found to be a real support and opportunity/time to share and resolve issues.
